Narrative

Welcome to the Flying Pintails team and our Global Big Day (GBD) 2024 Trip Report! This is a Teams Competition and Fundraiser for the nonprofit BirdsCaribbean.

This year all checklists submitted by the above list of Trip Report participants on Saturday, May 11, 2024, will be automatically included in the team stats here - super cool!

If you are on the Flying Pintails team and don't see your name listed here, please send your eBird username ASAP to Lisa Sorenson (Lisa.Sorenson@BirdsCaribbean.org) or Jeff Gerbracht (jeffgerbracht@gmail.com). We will be sure to invite you and then you need to be sure to click JOIN on the trip report page (upper right on your screen).

The other alternative for checklist sharing is to share your eBird checklists on May 11th with our team's username: BCGBDFlyingPintails Your checklists will be added, it just won't be in real time.

Finally, we hope all of you will sign up on our GiveButter platform to be officially listed as a team member: https://givebutter.com/BCGBD2024/flying-pintails-2

This is very helpful for communications with all of our GBD participant and for team spirit —we are ALL part of the beautiful BirdsCaribbean community and this fun and friendly competition and global birding event, contributing to science and conservation.

If you're able to donate to our fundraiser (every little bit helps!) and/or share this campaign with others that is much appreciated! You can be sure that the funds will be well used to support our mission of bird conservation in the region. Here's the link to donate: https://bit.ly/BCGBD-24

This year, we are raising funds to bring deserving Caribbean nationals and students to our International Conference in the DR (18-22 July 2024). Over 85 persons applied for travel funding, unfortunately, these persons cannot afford to attend without support. Your gift is critical to help us to provide invaluable training, networking, capacity building, and inspiration for dedicated ornithologists and conservationists to study and conserve the Caribbean's amazing birds. THANK YOU!
