Australasian Ornithological Conference

The 12th Australasian Ornithological Conference (AOC) will be held in Brisbane (Meaanjin), Queensland, from Tuesday 28- Thursday 30 November 2023. The AOC is the largest biennial gathering of enthusiastic amateur and professional ornithologists in the Australasian region. The conference is organised by BirdLife Australia, in conjunction with Birds New Zealand.

Find details about the conference at https://2023aoc.com/ and enter your details on the “Register your interest” tab to receive monthly email updates about the conference.

eBird Australia will be present at this conference and we are convening a symposium titled “Using Birdata and eBird data to understand the distribution, abundance and changes in regional bird fauna.” There will be 5 or 6 speakers at this symposium and we are keen to hear if you would like to present a talk highlighting the collection or use of eBird data.  Please email the convener Dr Richard Fuller at eBirdAustralia@gmail.com if you have ideas for a speaker or topic for the symposium.

eBirders will gather at a pub nearby the venue on November 27th, the evening before the conference–stay tuned for details.
