Have you noticed that the Minnesota eBird spotlight images rotate monthly?  Each month 10 images are selected from those submitted with Minnesota checklists during the prior month.  Photographs are chosen based on a combination of factors including the subject, image quality and composition, as well as an aspect ratio and subject placement compatible with the spotlight format.  Selected images are limited to one per photographer per month.  The spotlight image on the Minnesota eBird home page randomly rotates every 15 minutes.
