This month’s eBirder of the Month challenge, sponsored by Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, is all about participating in October Big Day! The eBirder of the Month will be drawn from eBirders who submit 5 eligible checklists on 9 October—October Big Day.
On October Big Day 2020, more than 32,000 participants reported 70% of the world’s bird species on 78,000 eBird checklists. Help to set new birding records this year by eBirding on 9 October. By taking part in October Big Day you’re also joining the second-ever Global Bird Weekend and celebrating World Migratory Bird Day. Whether you participate on October Big Day or the entire Global Bird Weekend anyone can be part of our October eBirder of the Month Challenge!
The winner of this month’s challenge will receive a new ZEISS Conquest HD 8×42 binocular and will be notified by the 10th of the following month. Each month we will feature a new eBird challenge and set of selection criteria. And don’t forget about the 2021 Checklist-a-day Challenge!
