While driving toward Leh, on a trip to Ladakh, we got to spot the magpie first. We decided to spend some time to look around and covered a short stretch spotting the species. It was reasonable temperature with bright sun.

    Details

    Found near Upshi, between Rumtse and Upshi. It has white belly and under-tail coverts, grey rump, white edge and tip in the tail. Compared photos of other Streptopelia turtur from the Internet and photos of Streptopelia orientalis from my own archive.
