Details
Same spot and same individuals seen on 19 Sep 2024. No need of a coracle as the water level receded till the end of Sivan Temple scrub. Extremely skittish! Lucky we got to see them again. Hardly giving a chance even to take a couple of steps closer. They'll dart into the dry stalks, blend in and move fast by foot rather than flying away. Makes it difficult to spot them. Probably they'll move to a different part of the reservoir because of the people and cattle movement here or they'll proceed with their travel ahead. Don't think we'll be able to see them next time this season unless someone sees them on their return. Will be interesting to check if they use the reservoir for their return journey as well. That, however, depends on the correct water level, muddy patches and luck. - Ganeshwar.
