First bird recording challenge for Latin America and the Caribbean
From July 1 to August 31, 2023
Upload recordings made with your cell phone or recording equipment, of at least 20 species of birds, to participate in the draw for a
SOUND RECORDING KIT!
It is not necessary that your recordings are made during the challenge period, they can be recordings that you have previously made anywhere in Latin America and/or the Caribbean.
Requirements for qualifying recordings:
Uncompressed files (WAV type)
Duration of more than 10 seconds
Add some metadata eg: notes, age/sex, additional species heard, behaviors, equipment used to record, other sounds.
Recommendations for files:
Edited according to best practice guidelines: trimmed and normalized
Not over-edited (no drastic filters or sound reduction)
With complete metadata
Do not miss the opportunity to participate and contribute to the knowledge of birds.
Remember that the welfare of the birds comes first, avoid disturbing them!
