Australasian Ornithological Conference
The 12th Australasian Ornithological Conference (AOC) will be held in Brisbane (Meaanjin), Queensland, from Tuesday 28- Thursday 30 November 2023. The AOC is the largest biennial gathering of enthusiastic amateur and professional ornithologists in the Australasian region.
April eBirder of the Month Challenge
This month’s eBirder of the Month challenge, sponsored by Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, will help you get to know the birds in one location. The eBirder of the Month will be drawn from eBirders who submit 20 or more eligible checklists from one location in April.
March eBirder of the Month Challenge
This month’s eBirder of the Month challenge, sponsored by Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, focuses on the importance of counting birds. The eBirder of the Month will be drawn from eBirders who submit 31 complete checklists during March that include counts for every species reported.
February eBirder of the Month Challenge

The free, self-guided eBird Essentials course contains the fundamental information we think every eBirder should know— everything from best practices to time-saving tips and tricks. The eBirder of the Month will be drawn from eBirders who have taken the eBird Essentials course and submit 1 or more eligible checklists in January.
