Did you know there are over 2,000 volunteer eBird reviewers around the world? Volunteer reviewers play an important role ensuring the eBird database remains reliable and accurate for science and conservation.
At the start of 2023, we challenged the eBird community to take their eBirding to the next level: submit an average of one complete checklist a day, all year. More than 7,625 eBirders submitted at least 365 eligible checklists during 2023—from 20 countries!

In 2023, eBird received more than 12.7 million complete checklists from your birding efforts. Whether you’re finding common birds or endangered species, eBird thrives on the enthusiasm and engagement of hundreds of thousands of dedicated participants worldwide who make eBirding part of their regular activities.
Over the last decade, you have helped the Cornell Lab’s Macaulay Library grow tremendously and recently we reached an amazing milestone. Thanks to more than 38,403 recordists around the world, the Macaulay Library now holds more than 2 million audio recordings.
