At the start of 2023, we challenged the eBird community to take their eBirding to the next level: submit an average of one complete checklist a day, all year. More than 7,625 eBirders submitted at least 365 eligible checklists during 2023—from 20 countries!

On 14 October, people in 191 countries around the world joined together to celebrate birds for October Big Day. More than 36,000 people contributed 83,735 checklists, setting three new records for the single biggest day in October birding history!
