Second county record, new state high count. Previous county high count was 6, previous state high count was 106. Absolutely mind-blowing. Got a heads up from Rick Luehrs that he had just had a flock of about 100 fly over him at Deer Creek. Not even 10 minutes later Leslie picks out a massive cloud of large shorebirds coming in hot from the south over the tree line. They flew up the eastern edge of the wetlands and dropped below the tree line, looking like they were interested in landing but instead began to gain altitude again. They weren’t close enough to see extensive detail, but close enough to at least see the moderately long and decurved bill and larger body size that ruled out any other shorebird.

Exotic species
Exotic species flags differentiate locally introduced species from native species.
Naturalized: Exotic population is self-sustaining, breeding in the wild, persisting for many years, and not maintained through ongoing releases (including vagrants from Naturalized populations). These count in official eBird totals and, where applicable, have been accepted by regional bird records committee(s).
Provisional: Either: 1) member of exotic population that is breeding in the wild, self-propagating, and has persisted for multiple years, but not yet Naturalized; 2) rarity of uncertain provenance, with natural vagrancy or captive provenance both considered plausible. When applicable, eBird generally defers to bird records committees for records formally considered to be of "uncertain provenance". Provisional species count in official eBird totals.
Escapee: Exotic species known or suspected to be escaped or released, including those that have bred but don't yet fulfill the criteria for Provisional. Escapee exotics do not count in official eBird totals.

Continuing here, but only a lone bird this time. Very vocal as it flew in from the north and headed towards the 🅱️ack 🅱️ond. Nesting situation perhaps?
