Just a guesstimate, uncountable numbers. Most of the birds in this photo are Western Sandpipers which is just a section of the area covered by peeps.

Distant, highly cropped backlite photos and video. First noticed with binoculars by distinct shape and feeding habit—small head, short bill, plump body, raised back feathers, feeding in a tipped down fashion. At the distant and lighting conditions I could make out that the bird had black streaking/blobs on its neck and breast, but not much else in the way of color, thus making it a male coming out of breeding plumage. In the video what looks like remnants of the breeding ruff are hanging down from its neck as if feeds.
