    Details

Found and identified by Tom Stephenson, on the shore of the West Pond and looking S from the Look Out Bench (on Google Maps) toward the sandy shoreline where they were seen on both sides of the large downed tree. Very long primary projection almost like White-rumped Sandpiper, but when they flew we were able to confirm that the rump wasn’t white. Even before then Tom noted that there was no pale base to its lower mandible—all black bill. Buff streaking cut off cleanly, with no streaking on flanks. Scaly appearance on back. Photos. Update: Changing from Baird’s Sandpiper to peep sp. on my list after photo review didn’t find any Baird’s.
