Counted by 20s on West Pond, massive rafts, for a total of 700. Roughly another 200 on East Pond. Staging before migration. Have encountered similar numbers at this time of year in the past.

Early migrant. Flyover of visitor center shortly after 8am, broad-winged swallow with notched tail, clean white underparts.

Details
ID’d by voice, a sharp, clear, high-pitched chip distinctive for any warbler that would be present here this time of year. NE corner of West Pond, darted quickly into the thick brush and chipped on and off for about a minute, and never re-emerged.

Drake on the northwest side of the West Pond, mixed in with AMWI for good comparison. Brick-red head, buffy forehead, silver-gray body, white on the folded wing and the rear of the body.
