Small gray-and-yellow bird found in rainforest canopy. Has a gray head, a greenish-yellow body, and bold yellow wingbars; males also have a black cap and a narrow black eye-line. Found in the canopy of montane forest, where individuals and pairs may be found foraging with mixed-species flocks. Compared to the similar Rufous-rumped Antwren, notice its yellow lower back and rump (reddish in Rufous-rumped). Its song is a high, accelerating series of chip notes.
