Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

A small flycatcher with a small range in eastern Panama and barely into Colombia. Look for a combination of bright yellowish-olive underparts with bold yellow wingbars and a white eyering. Rather slender overall with a long tail and a narrow bill. Sexes alike. Occurs in foothill forest from around 900–2,000 m, where singles or pairs are often found following mixed-species flocks in the canopy. Listen for high-pitched sputtering calls.
