Identification
Large black-and-white toucan of lowland forest. Often perches conspicuously in the tops of trees and along clearings. Overlaps with Channel-billed Toucan, which is remarkably similar over most of its range. White-throated Toucan is slightly larger and longer-billed than Channel-billed Toucan, but is most readily identified by its voice, a loud, far-carrying series of yelps, unlike the croaking call of the Channel-billed Toucan.
