Identification
Little-known flycatcher documented only from logged lowland forest around Medan, in northern Sumatra. Male bright royal blue, with a white belly and limited pale patch on the forehead. Female cinnamon-brown, with buffy belly and orangish chest and tail. Similar to White-tailed Flycatcher, but note Rück’s lack of any white in the tail, less extensive pale forehead patch in male, and warmer coloration and lack of a white bib in the female. No recent records; either extinct or simply very rare.
