Pohnpei Lorikeet Trichoglossus rubiginosus

Beautiful dark maroon parrot with a bright orange bill and yellowish tail. Found solely on the island of Pohnpei in the eastern Caroline Islands, where it is the only naturally-occurring parrot. Found in forested areas, both pristine and near human habitation and cultivation. Chatters shrilly and harshly; also gives a high slurred whistle.
