Philippine Cuckoo-Dove Macropygia tenuirostris

Dark brown dove with long, broad tail. Head and underparts a rich cinnamon, upperparts dark gray, with a faint purple gloss on the neck visible in optimal light. Like most cuckoo-doves, shy and unobtrusive, typically foraging in dense growth and occasionally on edges and trail margins. Darker, longer-tailed, and less marked than most other forest doves in its range. Song a hooting “woo-woop-woo-woo!” usually delivered from deep cover.
