Chunky mid-sized parrot with a mostly green body and brown hood. The pale-green rump is conspicuous in flight. Poorly known species with a limited distribution. Found in broadleaf woodland and in areas with a mix of savanna and lowland forest, usually in pairs or small flocks. Call is a long, two-parted screeching “screee-aaaa.” Similar to Senegal and Meyer’s Parrots, but less colorful, lacking the orange-yellow belly of the former and the yellow shoulders and forehead of the latter.
