Identification
Small leaf warbler of montane rainforest throughout the Philippines. Dark crown lacking a crown stripe, dark eye-stripe, pale eyebrow, often a faint wing bar and white outer tail feathers. Color varies geographically. Eye-stripe can be yellow, whitish or buff; back is brown or olive-green; and belly whitish, yellow or streaked with yellow. Forages actively in upper levels of forest, often in mixed flocks. Compare with migratory leaf warblers. Song is a rolling series of high-pitched warbling notes.
