Identifikasjon

DREVET AV MERLIN

Small, drab flycatcher with a limited range in southern Ecuador and northern Peru. It is mostly gray and brown, and may show faint yellow on the belly. Its round, crestless crown, pale eyestripe, and brown wingbars help to identify it. Very similar to Tumbes Tyrannulet (they were formerly considered to be the same species and called Mouse-colored Tyrannulet). Range is often the best way to separate them. Marañon Tyrannulet is found at higher elevations in the western Andes as well as interior valleys east of the continental divide. Voice is also helpful, as it often gives a rising, buzzy trill that sometimes ends in a sharp chirp. Inhabits dry and semi-humid forest and scrub.
