Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Chunky, skulking warbler that favors dense undergrowth. Yellow with blue-gray head and chest. Blacker lores set off distinctive white arcs above and below eye. Olive-green above and yellow belly. Bright pink legs. Adult males show most contrasting plumage. Females and immatures duller but with same pattern. Found in thickets, clearcuts, clearings in mixed forests, and riparian zones. Similar to Mourning Warbler, but little range overlap during breeding season and migraton, and note longer tail and white eye-arcs.
