Small, colorful flycatcher of Peru’s eastern Andes; found mainly in the northern part of the country, but there is at least one isolated population much farther south. Combination of red head, white chin, gray collar, and yellow belly is distinctive. Does not overlap with Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher, which is only found north of the Marañon River. Inhabits dense thickets and bamboo stands at the edge of cloud forest. Song is a series of short rattles, often given as a duet.
