FORNECIDA POR MERLIN

Cute, frosty northern finch. Irregular; moves south only in some years. In the winter in the northern U.S., it joins flocks of Common Redpolls, but is always much less common. Whitish overall with small red cap, black chin, and frosted white back. Males show faint pink wash on breast. Can be very difficult to separate from Common Redpoll; some are best left unidentified. Look for whiter color overall, especially on rump, undertail coverts, and flanks. Prefers scrubby, weedy areas. Breeds in the Arctic. Visits feeders.
