Fairly large hummingbird with super long straight bill. Overall dull greenish with iridescent green forehead and bronzy nape. Female similar to male but paler brownish below. A forest hummingbird most often associated with montane streams; your best bet to see one is to stake out a patch of riverside flowers.

Escapee: Exotic species known or suspected to be escaped or released, including those that have bred but don't yet fulfill the criteria for Provisional. Escapee exotics do not count in official eBird totals.
