PODPORUJE MERLIN

A warm brown reed warbler with a white throat and a pale brow which falters and ends just behind the eye. Found in dense vegetation around wetlands, especially reeds and grasses. Namesake short wings do not reach the tail base. Compare with other small reed warblers, particularly the similar but longer-winged and stronger-browed Paddyfield Warbler. Typical jumbled reed warbler song consists of an assemblage of bright warbles and harsh buzzy notes. Gives dry, rasping “tsak.”
