Identification
Medium-sized foliage-gleaner with a prominent buff eyebrow and a strong wedge-shaped bill. Olive-brown above, including the cap, with a rufous tail. Note the buffy-yellow eyebrow throat, and streaking on the face, breast, and belly. Found in montane forests and second growth where it forages mostly in the understory, searching for food in dead leaf clusters. Regularly given contact call is an insectlike “tsip.”
