PODPORUJE MERLIN

Jewel of a warbler, probably extinct. Male is distinctive, with a black patch on the lower throat and chest. Also note his bright yellow belly and evenly-divided yellow-and-gray crown. Female is less striking; note olive upperparts, olive-yellow underparts, and faint eyering. Likely bred in swampy floodplain forests, especially in and around cane stands, and wintered in a wide range of wooded habitats, but details remain unclear. Song is a buzzy insect-like trill.
