Black-and-white banding on underwings striking in flight. Similar to Swinhoe's and Ryukyu Minivets but larger and whiter-chested than the former, lighter gray than the latter. Inhabits lowland and foothill forests, where it frequents the upper levels of trees. Voice a tinkling insect-like trill, often given in flight.
