Hazy sun. Low 70s and light breeze. Went from parking lot down to creek/estuary mouth and then further east on beach to check out the recently-hatched Snowy Plovers in their protected area.

    Details

    Family of four: father and three recently hatched chicks. All in a protected area of beach to the east of creek/estuary mouth. Also a female adult, not related to this family, was roaming nearby. The male parent spent a lot of time perched on a mound of kelp - apparently a favorite spot, according to one of the rangers.
