Details
First noticed this bird some distance away preening itself in the water and was unsure what it was. Came back a few minutes later and it was closer and I could see it was a phalarope. Walked on the dirt hill beside the pond and got fairly close to it-got a few decent pictures.(I don't know how to move them from a camera card to the e-bird list). It was a male, not as attractive as the female but I am sure it was a phalarope. I've never seen one of these birds anywhere but Amherst Island!
