Common everyday with birds close the Antarctica Peninsula looking quite big and busy while birds in the Drake Passage were mixed with many smaller fluttery birds - 2 races?

Single bird flushed off the water on March 21st excellent views and photos of darker head and paler carpal path on underwing. Great bird, hope to see more further north.

Great views of 20-30 birds on March 20 and 21 in Drake Passage. Disappeared as we got next to Antarctica. Darkish underwing with couple collar and pale back with darker wing - was seen very well and photographed. Fly past at very high speed.

20 birds on March 21 and a few more on the 22 - quite small and prion like with distinct white end to tail and darker head. Many ok photos. Another very fast and erratic flyer. Very handsome,
