Checklist Comments

Partly Cloudy; W@10-15mph, increasing to 10-20mph; Visibility good; Seas moderate; Tide near high rising to half falling. Drove the outer beach to west of the cove area w/P.Flood and A.O'Neill and spent the entire time there. Another morning with almost non-stop action, especially for the first hour or so. Tough morning for counting, as there were birds moving in both directions as well as considerable foraging activity (much of it very close to shore), so most of the larger totals are rough estimates. Also, I spent almost no time looking at the more distant birds, which were numerous at times.
A rare and late Scopoli's Shearwater was a highlight, as was a movement of POJA apparently exiting the bay, mostly mid morning. However, not a single PAJA seen (or at least identified), and only one tern. COSH and GRSH were numerous, some very close to shore, but MASH continue to be unusually scarce for the date and location.
