Details
Pair skydiving and perching on tall dead tree atop ridgeline between Mount Bigelow and Bear Wallow. Alternating between aerial acrobatics and perching on the same tree over the course of at least two hours. Frequent vocalizations are similar to those recorded in Merlin app. Too small to be Red-Tailed Hawks. Very clean bright white on undersides that brightly flashed in sunlight. Brown above with dark hood and white throat visible. Tail is faintly banded. Solidly white below eliminating Broad-Winged Hawk. Seen chasing off Zone-Tailed Hawk which later flew much higher and continued gliding far above treetops for remainder of the day. Other reports indicate a nest and chicks which would explain this behavior.
