    Details

Medium sized shorebird showing dark above, white below overall. Small white dotting on back, clean below, streaked upper chest and throat. White eye ring, dainty black bill and blackline extending to eye, dingy yellow legs. Viewed with Lesser Yellowlegs for comparison. Photographed, will post. Personal first-of-fall in the county, a few days on the early side of 20 Jul average arrival. Interestingly, the earliest fall record so far input to eBird in Virginia Beach though the Gold Book mentions an extreme early coastal plain fall arrival of 1 Jul.
