Have you seen a Cerulean Warbler? We can help you with that.

Is there a life bird, state bird, or county bird in Wisconsin that you really want to see?

Not only is the atlas a great way to make a difference for bird conservation, but it’s also a great way to finally get you a glimpse of that nemesis species!

And we can help you find that species! Simply choose which of these statements most applies to you and proceed:

1. If you already know your species of interest:

Send an email to atlas@wsobirds.org with the following details:

  • Your top 2 or 3 wish list species (must be species that might breed in WI)
  • Where in the state you’d be willing to travel, by region

2. If you’re not sure which new species you might be able to find in Wisconsin, and your eBird account is reasonably up to date with all the species you’ve seen:

Send an email to atlas@wsobirds.org with the following details:

  • Your eBird username (not the password, just the username) and we can use the power of eBird to determine some likely new species for you
  • Where in the state you’d be willing to travel, by region

3. If you’re not sure which new species you might be able to find in Wisconsin, and your eBird account is not up to date:

Page through this list of birds that summer in Wisconsin and pick out a couple you really want to see.

Send an email to atlas@wsobirds.org with the following details:

  • Your top 2 or 3 wish list species (must be species that might breed in Wisconsin)
  • Where in the state you’d be willing to travel, by region

Then, once we have that information

We’ll suggest some atlas blocks where your species are likely to be found! You can sign up for a priority block, or if you’re not up for that, just touch base with the county coordinator in the county of interest and let them know you might visit that block.

It’s as simple as that!

Want to see a Spruce Grouse? We can point you in the right direction.
