Protocol:
Traveling
Party Size:
15
Duration:
2 hour(s), 35 minute(s)
Distance:
1.5 mile(s)
Observers:
David Sussman List , larry ford
Comments:
observations in 4 habitats: mesquite bosque, blue gum grove, desert scrub, riparian area to the mitigated lakes. Just a note: among the cormorants on the mitigated lake was possibly a Common Loon, however our view point was inhibited by the sun. Perhaps another birder could visit this large lake(pond) and get a better look.

Photo taken from great distance with a Nikon D7100 and 300mm lens. I have attempted to improve it as much as I can with Photoshop. The bird on the left has been ID'ed as American bittern by 2 birding experts, based on its color, position and size relative to adjacent great egret.
