** Rare

Found this AM by Nick Bonomo Mixed in with a flock of plankton feeding gulls just north of the Meig's Point Jetty.

The bird had a small, delicate, dirty yellow bill. It had a small round head with a dark eye. The head and neck were quite clean and unmarked (The Short-billed Mew Gull had smudgy brown markings) The mantle color was slightly darker than the nearby Ring-billed Gulls, but it did not seem quite as dark as the mantle on the Short-billed Mew Gull. Flight photos obtained by Nick Bonomo and myself were suggestive of Common Gull (extensive black in P8). It was an adult bird.

Of Note the two Mew Gulls did not associate with each other.
