With Maria Rodriguez, Audrey Whitlock and David Schaffter on quest to see Bar-tailed Godwit. We arrived early but covered several possible areas between 7:45 AM and 12:30 PM, waiting for the tide to drop. Willets and several Marbled Godwits were seen early, then they flew off to the southeast. Winds picked up with a passing front and by 11 AM, they were strong and from NW. Several flats were exposed west of the open camping area, that usually aren't exposed when wind is from east or southeast. Willets arrived first, then Marbled Godwits. The Bar-tailed was picked out by Audrey ~12:40 PM and 14-16 people enjoyed scope views. The godwits flew east ~1:15 PM but we were unable to relocate them, even from the Visitor Center. This is my 2nd Bar-tailed Godwit for Florida and 3rd for "Lower 48." Am not reporting other birds.
11 species total

Bird found by Michael O'Brien and there is speculation that it may be the same female that was found by Doug Gochfeld 2 years ago. We were ~200-250 yards from the bird and while the field marks were easily seen, the bold supercilium was apparent only in certain light. Size, bill, color and tibia comparisons with nearby Marbled Godwits was a bonus. Distance, poor light and point-n-shoot make for terrible photos.
