Remarkably, Jones while making the point that this was the first "authentic record for this part of the state", fails to give a date for the record. I give it here on the 29th along with his Henslow's Sparrows ... one of only two dates given for sightings from the "east end of the spit" (which we are told is where the WEWA was found, as were the sparrows). This corresponds to present-day Sheldon's Marsh S.N.P. The other date is 13 May, however as most spring lake shore overshoots are in late April, I opted for the former date.
