Eight individuals briefly landed right on the small 'beach' in the Flamingo walk-in campground.

Two American Oystercatchers observed resting on the sandbar in front of the Flamingo visitor center -- a surprising find. Large, stocky shorebirds with large reddish bills, white breast and belly, and dark head, neck, and back. Birds were too distant to take diagnostic photos.

White-rumped Sandpiper

Two White-rumped Sandpipers found nestled within a flock of various Calidrid sp (Pectoral, Semipalmated, Western, Least). White rumps obvious in flight. Slightly decurved bill, long primary projections, streaking on the flanks, and pale supercilium were other key features observed. Photos can be seen here:
