Hot from about 9 on. All seasonal ponds still dry.
Almost entire time on foot - Marsh Loop, Seasonal Road, Audio Stop #8, HQ.
Elk 5 - all were bugling just after dawn.

It was perched on top of a willow at the start of the Seasonal Road. ID'ed by flycatcher shape and posture; black head and blackish back; whitish underparts and blackish tail with wide white terminal band. The dark coloration seemed relatively pale - perhaps a juvenile bird.

Adult male. At the 2nd willow patch from the start of the seasonal road. ID'ed by bright rose-red chest; black back; white rump; squared black tail with large white patches in the corners and black wings with extensive white markings.
