Hot & humid.
All ponds were completely dry for the first time that I can recall. Except for the drain along the railroad bed, all the canals were completely dry too.

All identified by sight at close range - entirely black caps with no white eye line. All four were foraging very close together - possibly a pair with 2 independent juveniles. I did not see any feeding one another.
