General: My second attempt at these Least Bitterns, after striking out on the evening of the 11th. This morning, they were more cooperative, and I was better prepared for dealing with the mosquitoes.
Weather: ~70F, calm wind, misty, cloudy.
Non-bird: 1 Eastern Cottontail, 2+ Green Frogs (heard), 1 American Bullfrog (heard), mosquitoes.

Comments: Continuing. Heard doing unprompted "rack rack rack" calls at 5:42 (audio recording below), 5:48, 6:08 (with response) and 6:16. One popped into view at 6:10, clinging to reeds for a few seconds in the open before vanishing into the vegetation. Their continued presence in these wetlands since at least July 27 is intriguing: as far as I'm aware, this species has not persisted for weeks at any Montco location in more than a decade.
