Comments: Amazing number of Stilt Sandpipers! One observed on west end of lake with Greater Yellowlegs. Seven or more on small pond/inlet on northeast corner of lake. Another on east end of lake. Large wading shorebirds associating with Yellowlegs, but shorter, slightly smaller than GRYE. Thick, drooping bills, downward feeding motion. Light supercillium, buffy breast, warm tones, larger scaly feathered look on back than yellowlegs, with some streaks. White on rump in flight. Call low for a shorebird--like a buzzy high dog bark. See photos of solo bird, group of three, and another with GRYE. All observed quite clearly.
