Exercise walk, 2.7 mi x 2. 72-80f, clear, calm. Periods very quiet of bird activity, insects callling loudly, no mammals or snakes. Lots of Arizona Sister butterflies.

    Comments: Two views flying low above canyon. Accipiter sp but built like a cargo plane not the slimmer profile of a COHA: bulky body, heavy, powerful. All gray adult, not rufous like an adult COHA. Recently reported in this same canyon by Fray and McFarland.

    Comments: I saw a group of corvids flying down canyon so quickly asked my hiking partner to count them while I ID’ed to species. Tail and vocalizations matched this species. I don’t usually see CHRA here.
