68F, partly cloudy, breezy. I walked around the west and north sides of the lake and then through the tunnel to the northeast portion of the park north of Wilshire, where I spent about 25 minutes observing the Silky Oak at 6th and Lake Streets. I returned to the lake and walked around the east and south sides of it.

    Comments: While walking along the north side of the lake, I looked north and observed the bird perching on the bare branch of a eucalyptus in the park near 6th and Lake Street. It made quite an impression due to its size.
