Observations

  1. Number observed: 16

Comments: About 11 chicks in one group

Breeding Code: FL Recently Fledged Young (Confirmed)
  2. Number observed: 0

Comments: We haven't seen or heard a Collared-Dove for a couple of days. I'm guessing that the male has been killed (possibly by that goshawk), and if the female is still around, she's likely on eggs. Normally the male is conspicuous, between his frequent calling, harassing other doves, and making display flights.

Comments: The first day after our nesting kingbird lost her mate, another kingbird took up residence, but the two had little to say to each other. Now that a couple more days have passed, they are occasionally chattering and displaying.

Comments: Female spotted by Jim as she came to bathe just before dusk. Frequently flashed the white in her tail. The blackish feathering above the yellow around the eye indicates an older female. New yard bird.
